Introducing
Deep Wave Resonance

Deep Wave Resonance is a therapeutic approach unlike anything you've experienced in a treatment room before. During the massage, frequency-specific therapeutic music is played directly through the massage table and into your body as you receive a skilled and empathic massage treatment. As the deep frequencies vibrate through your body you will achieve a level of calm and relaxation that enhances every aspect of the massage treatment so your whole body feels as much as your ears hear.

"If you want to understand the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration."
                                               -Nikola Tesla

Developed over three years and rooted in the science of VibroAcoustic Therapy, Deep Wave Resonance works by using the power of sound and music vibrating directly into the body to gently coax your nervous system out of stress and into genuine, measurable deep rest.

What does it feel like?
In short, it feels like sound. Imagine taking a nap on a subwoofer at a concert, but without damaging your hearing. Deep Wave Resonance is quietly powerful, like the engine of a cruise ship. You can feel the music in every cell of your body, creating waves of deep relaxation, calming nerve pain, anxiety, stress, relaxing sore muscles and leaving you in a state of bliss.

Are there any benefits or is it just a novelty?
There are absolutely scientifically documented benefits:
- Decreased nervous system activity
- Pain Relief
- Calms Anxiety
- Lowered Blood Pressure
- Vagal nerve activation
- Increased blood flow
- Aids lymphatic flow

Does it cost extra?

No, Deep Wave Resonance is included with every massage treatment, unless you prefer otherwise.

About Waves Therapeutics

Waves Therapeutics is a home-based massage studio located in beautiful Sylvan Lake, Alberta.

Daryl is a Registered Massage Therapist and is currently studying Manual Osteopathy. His background as a musician, producer and audio engineer of 30 years prompted research into combining the healing power of music, vibration and massage resulting in the creation of Deep Wave Resonance technology - the first of its kind in Canada right here in Sylvan Lake. Together with his life and business partner Olivia Calvert they founded Waves Therapeutics as a complementary combination of Massage Therapy and Deep Wave Resonance treatment sessions.

They are both playing to their strengths with Daryl providing massage and sound therapy and Olivia lending her business and interior design acumen to provide a holistic healing environment and rejuvenating experience.

Client Testimonials

"Daryl is just a really good massage therapist, and a really good human to boot. I probably shouldn't tell everyone because I want to keep him to myself, but seriously, you should see him. Those hands are magic. Highly recommended."

Nicole

"I've been getting massages for years but I didn't know what I was missing until I had a session with Daryl. Some people just have the touch and Daryl is one of them. He's my go to person now. And Daryl, if you're reading this you are never allowed to leave Sylvan Lake!"

Amanda

"The Deep Wave Resonance session was like nothing I've ever experienced before. You don't just hear the music, you FEEL it. I was sucked in from the first minute and and overwhelmed by the beauty of it. Not only was it a physically and emotionally healing experience, it was almost psychedelic."

FAQ

Do you do direct billing?

No, but we will provide detailed receipts for your insurance reimbursement. Most providers allow you to send a photo of the receipt and will reimburse within a few days.

What is Deep Wave Resonance?

Deep Wave Resonance is the use of low frequency musical vibrations incorporated into the massage treatments. Forget singing bowls, DWR makes the whole table (and your whole body) a singing bowl.

Falling under the larger umbrella of VibroAcoustic Therapy (VAT) it is an emerging field in holistic health using targeted frequencies vibrating directly into the body through specially designed equipment. It can either be standalone tones or carefully crafted music that incorporates frequencies that target different parts and systems of the body for profound effects physically, emotionally, mentally and even spiritually. Typically the effective frequencies are 200Hz and below, and quickly move the nervous system from a sympathetic mode (stress, anxiety, busy) to a parasympathetic mode (rest, digest, heal) by activating not just the vagas nerve, but the entire nervous system. This allows your body to remain in a healing state throughout the day as opposed to only healing at night. As most people who have experienced it will tell you - you can't imagine what it's like until you've tried it for yourself.

Can I do a Deep Wave Resonance session without getting a massage?

Yes! In fact this is an amazing experience in itself where you get comfortable on the massage table with headphones, pillows, eye mask and a weighted blanket for total immersion. You will find yourself lost in an world of sensations, feeling deeply and drifting into a world of closed-eye visuals, deep relaxation and emotional reset. It stops stress and anxiety in their tracks and leaves you feeling so calm and relaxed that we insist on a 10-15 minute integration and return to the "real world" before you get in your car to drive home.

Is Deep Wave Resonance safe for everyone?

Yes, with one rare exception. Individuals with pacemakers or defibrillators are advised against DWR as the vibrations may interfere with the proper functioning of the pacemakers sensitive electronics.
